BBL
A BBL is essentially a transfer of fat harvested from other areas of the body and strategically injected into the buttocks to augment shape and size without the use of implants.
Evaluation:
The surgeons at TPSG are selective when considering the proper procedure to help you attain your goals, particularly with a BBL. The surgery has become widely sought after with the popularity of several celebrities that have undergone the procedure, but it’s not for everyone. A skilled surgeon can enhance the entire lower body with a Brazilian Butt Lift by reducing fat in problem areas while augmenting a deficient buttock. BBL surgery is a complex procedure that requires a highly skilled surgeon with an eye for aesthetic detail and extensive training.
The Procedure:
The BBL is a three step process where fat is harvested from other areas of the body, purified and prepared for transfer, and finally injected into specific areas to increase volume. It is usually an out patient surgery with minimal pain that can be managed with pain medication. You will be required to sleep on your side or stomach for two weeks after surgery to allow fat to ‘take’ in its new location. Your surgeon will usually inject more fat initially to ensure the final result matches expectations. Your body needs to establish blood flow to the newly harvested fat to allow survival of the maximum amount of transferred fat. You will be required to avoid normal sitting for eight weeks following the procedure.
Patient Considerations:
A good candidate for a BBL should have realistic expectations for recovery and results. You must have adequate fat to harvest for enhancement and good skin quality with little laxity for the best outcome. Your surgeon will evaluate you at your complimentary consultation and discuss possible options.
BMI Qualification:
At The Plastic Surgery Group, the physicians’ top concerns are your well-being, safety, and helping you reach your desired results. When considering body contouring, your BMI, or Body Mass Index, is the main criteria factor used to determine whether you are a good candidate. Please follow this chart to configure your BMI. If your BMI is 30 or above, you are currently not a good candidate for surgical body contouring or Coolsculpting. Please call our office at 513.791.4440 for further assistance or recommendations on weight loss physicians. Once you’ve reached a stable weight with an acceptable BMI, we encourage you to come in for a complimentary consultation. A BMI within healthy range enhances your chances for an optimal outcome.
One of our friendly surgery schedulers will share the surgeons’ credentials, answer questions, and schedule a complimentary consultation. Find out if you are a good candidate for a BBL procedure by calling The Plastic Surgery Group today at 513.791.4440.
