What Is Botox?

Botox is common enough that most people have heard about it, but do you actually know what the process entails? As a quick overview, Botox is a series of small injections that includes a tiny dose of toxin. This toxin temporarily inhibits your muscles from moving, which in turn softens  the wrinkles on your face giving you smooth flawless appearance. Botox can also help with problems like migraines and under arm perspiration.

What Are the Benefits?

Botox is a simple, quick procedure takes minutes to perform in our office. Once injected you can resume your normal daily activity with no down time and will see the full result in approximately seven days.

Another benefit is the longevity of Botox. While it’s not permanent, you can expect a single injection to last for three months, and maybe longer! Continual injections are needed to maintain the effect.

What Are the Risks?

Because our staff is trained and experienced, the risks you face from Botox are slight. However, pain, swelling, headaches, and eye dryness are all possible side effects of the treatment. The toxin has a very slight risk of spreading and causing muscle weakness, vision problems, or breathing problems, so talk to a doctor if you experience these issues.
